Application: Anchor devotion in reliable scripture and ethical living; seek counsel that is both sweet (compassionate) and true (principled); leaders should invite saintly critique and blessing.

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

FAQs

The verse explicitly says “devo hariḥ babhāṣe”—Hari (Viṣṇu) speaks. The listener is indicated as the “patiṃ bhūpatim,” the lordly king, ruler of the earth.

Their hymns are described as Veda-grounded (suveda-yukta), aligned with the highest truth (paramārtha-saṃmita), and highly meritorious (supuṇya), implying praise that is both scripturally rooted and philosophically sound.

The verse implies that true praise should be anchored in right knowledge and highest truth, and that such sacred stuti invites divine engagement—Hari responds with gracious, pleasing speech.
