Sūta is speaking, affirming that truth-knowing sages reliably distinguish what is auspicious and inauspicious, and that their assessment stands firm in this context.
Jñāna indicates scriptural or conceptual knowledge, while vijñāna indicates realized, experiential discernment; together they ground the sages’ authority to judge śubha and aśubha.
It teaches that moral and spiritual evaluation (good vs. harmful/inauspicious) should be guided by those established in truth and discernment, not by whim or mere opinion.
