Narada (addressing Devī within the tirtha-mahātmya narration)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It states that properly performed tīrtha-snān (ritual bathing) elevates one’s standing, and that śrāddha done at that sacred place yields exceptional contentment to the Pitṛs—highlighting tīrtha as a multiplier of ritual merit.
While focused on rite and merit, it supports bhakti indirectly by teaching reverent observance (vidhāna) at holy places and gratitude to one’s lineage (Pitṛ-yajña), both considered devotional duties within Purāṇic dharma.
It emphasizes correct ritual procedure (vidhāna) for snāna and śrāddha—aligned with Kalpa (vedāṅga of ritual practice) and basic dharma-śāstric rules about ancestral rites.
