Pūjādi-kathana — Gaṅgā Vratas, Tenfold Worship, Stotra, and Mokṣa on the Riverbank
gaṃgā me sarvato bhūyāttvayi gaṃge'stu me sthitiḥ | ādau tvamaṃte madhye ca sarvā tvaṃ gāṃgate śive || 83 ||
Narrator (Suta) recounting the Ganga-mahatmya section of the Narada Purana
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It is a prayer of complete refuge in Gaṅgā—seeking her protective presence everywhere and affirming that she pervades one’s entire spiritual journey (beginning, middle, and end) as a purifier and liberator.
The verse expresses bhakti through śaraṇāgati (surrender): the devotee asks to “abide in” Gaṅgā and treats her as the all-pervading support, turning remembrance and dependence into a continuous devotional practice.
No specific Vedāṅga technical teaching is stated; the practical takeaway is ritual application—recitation as a tirtha-prārthanā during Gaṅgā-snānā (sacred bathing) or before pilgrimage acts for purification and protection.
