dātavyaṃ yācitaṃ maṃhyaṃ sarveṣāṃ prītikārakam | ekādaśyāḥ prabhāveṇa sarveṣāṃ pāpināṃ gatiḥ || 57 ||
Narada (teaching on Ekadashi-vrata and dharmic giving)
Vrata: Ekādaśī
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It links two core dharmic acts—giving when requested (dāna) and observing Ekādaśī—stating that Ekādaśī’s potency can uplift even those burdened by sin toward a better spiritual destiny (gati).
Ekādaśī is traditionally a Viṣṇu-centered vrata; emphasizing its prabhāva presents devotion expressed through disciplined observance and compassionate giving, both of which please beings and support purification.
Kalpa (ritual discipline) is implied through the vrata framework of Ekādaśī, and Jyotiṣa (lunar calendrics) is indirectly relevant because Ekādaśī is determined by tithi (the 11th lunar day).
