The Discourse of Rukmāṅgada
Prabodhinī Ekādaśī, Kārtika-vrata, and Satya-dharma
रममाणस्य सुचिरं बहवः कार्तिका गताः । प्रिया सौख्येन मुग्धस्य न गतो हरिवासरः ॥ १४ ॥
ramamāṇasya suciraṃ bahavaḥ kārtikā gatāḥ | priyā saukhyena mugdhasya na gato harivāsaraḥ || 14 ||
جو دیر تک عیش میں مگن رہے، اُس پر کئی کارتک کے مہینے گزر جاتے ہیں؛ مگر محبوبہ کے آرام میں فریفتہ شخص کو مقدّس ہری واسر (ایکادشی) آتا ہوا دکھائی نہیں دیتا॥۱۴॥

Bhakti requires alertness to Viṣṇu’s sacred days and vows; the verse contrasts mindful observance of Harivāsara (Ekādaśī) with the negligence produced by infatuation and indulgence.
