The Greatness of Kārtika
प्रबोधसमये विष्णोराश्विनांते जगद्गुरोः । मोहिनी रमयामास तत्काले हृच्छयार्दिता ॥ ९ ॥
prabodhasamaye viṣṇorāśvināṃte jagadguroḥ | mohinī ramayāmāsa tatkāle hṛcchayārditā || 9 ||
ماہِ آشْوِن کے اختتام پر، جگت گرو وِشنو کے بیداری کے وقت، محبت کی تڑپ سے بے قرار موہنی نے اسی گھڑی انہیں خوش و شاد کرنے کی کوشش کی۔
Narada (in dialogue context with Sanatkumara tradition)
Vrata: Viṣṇu-prabodha (Prabodhinī observance; commonly linked with Prabodhinī/Utthāna Ekādaśī in later tradition)
Rasa: {"primary_rasa":"bhakti","secondary_rasa":"shringara","emotional_journey":"Begins with a calendrical sacred moment (Viṣṇu’s awakening) and turns to an intimate, desire-tinged episode where Mohinī seeks to please the Lord, blending devotion with enchantment."}
It marks the sacred “Prabodha” time—Viṣṇu’s awakening—highlighting that specific calendrical moments (tithi/māsa transitions) are spiritually charged and often frame key events, vows, and forms of devotion in the Purāṇic narrative.
By centering Viṣṇu as jagadguru and linking devotion to the Prabodha season, it implies that bhakti is strengthened through timely observances and remembrance of Viṣṇu’s līlā and auspicious awakenings.
The verse uses a clear calendrical marker—“end of Āśvina”—reflecting Jyotiṣa-style time-reckoning (māsa/seasonal timing) that guides vrata scheduling and ritual observances in Narada Purana traditions.
