Kārtika-Māhātmya
The Greatness of Kārtika

Narada (within a tirtha-mahatmya style narration of Uttara-Bhaga)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
The verse teaches that divine presence is not confined to a single shrine—she is immanent in sacred waters, flower-filled lakes, and renowned mountain ranges, making nature itself a field for reverence and pilgrimage.
By locating the goddess in lakes and mountains, it encourages bhakti through remembrance and worship wherever one encounters sacred landscapes—devotion becomes continuous, not limited to temple-only practice.
Primarily Itihasa-Purana style sacred geography (ksetra/tirtha identification) rather than a technical Vedanga; practically, it guides pilgrimage mapping—knowing which regions and natural sites are traditionally revered for worship and merit (punya).
