The Greatness of the Gaṅgā
itīritaṃ sutenaiṣā śrutvā niḥśvasya duḥkhitā | saṃpṛṣṭaṃ tadyathāvṛttaṃ sarvaṃ tasmai nyavedayat || 26 ||
Suta (narrator)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It highlights truthful narration (yathāvṛtta) as a dharmic foundation—spiritual instruction in the Purana proceeds through honest testimony and careful recounting of events.
Indirectly, it sets the narrative ground for bhakti teachings: sincere communication and humility in distress are portrayed as the starting point from which guidance and devotional counsel can arise.
None directly; the verse is primarily narrative, emphasizing accurate reporting (yathāvṛtta) rather than a specific Vedanga like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa.
