The Greatness of the Gaṅgā

Gaṅgāmāhātmya

स्मृतार्तिनाशिनी गङ्गा नदीनां प्रवरा मुने । सर्वपापक्षयकरी सर्वोपद्रवनाशिनी ॥ ८ ॥

smṛtārtināśinī gaṅgā nadīnāṃ pravarā mune | sarvapāpakṣayakarī sarvopadravanāśinī || 8 ||

اے مُنی، ندیوں میں برتر گنگا محض یاد کرنے سے دکھ دور کرتی ہے۔ وہ تمام گناہوں کو مٹانے والی اور ہر آفت و بلا کو ٹالنے والی ہے۔
