ya idaṃ paṭhate bhaktyā śrāddhakāle dvijottamaḥ | pitarastasya tuṣyaṃti saṃtatiścaiva varddhate || 90 ||
Narada
Vrata: Shraddha (pitṛ-kārya)
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches that devotional recitation at the proper ritual time (Śrāddha) directly supports pitṛ-tarpaṇa (ancestral satisfaction) and yields dhārmic fruit in the form of family continuity and prosperity.
Even within a Vedic rite like Śrāddha, the verse emphasizes bhakti as the effective inner force—recitation done with devotion is said to please the Pitṛs and bring auspicious results.
Kalpa (ritual procedure) is implied: performing Śrāddha at its proper time and adding prescribed recitation (pāṭha) as an aṅga (supporting act) for Pitṛ satisfaction.
