नित्यं निष्ठुरवक्ता च पापी वेश्यापरायणः । एवं स्थितः कियत्कालमनाहत्यं महदृचः ॥ ३१ ॥
nityaṃ niṣṭhuravaktā ca pāpī veśyāparāyaṇaḥ | evaṃ sthitaḥ kiyatkālamanāhatyaṃ mahadṛcaḥ || 31 ||
وہ ہمیشہ سخت گو، گناہگار اور فاحشہ عورتوں کا دلدادہ تھا۔ ایسی حالت میں رہ کر وہ کب تک عظیم حکمِ الٰہی (کرم کے پھل) کی ضرب سے بچ سکتا ہے؟

It warns that persistent cruelty in speech and indulgence in vice are not spiritually neutral—Dharma’s “great decree” (karma) inevitably ripens, urging immediate self-correction and purification.
Bhakti is supported by śuddhi (inner purity) and sāttvika conduct; harsh speech and uncontrolled sensuality obstruct remembrance of the Lord, so the verse motivates restraint and reform as a foundation for steady devotion.
Vyākaraṇa and Śikṣā are indirectly implied through disciplined, truthful, non-hurtful speech—refining one’s words (vāk-saṃskāra) is treated as a practical ethical application of Vedic speech-culture.
