Bhāgīratha’s Bringing of the Gaṅgā
ahaṃ ca viṣṇuryajjñānaṃ tadviṣṇusmaraṇaṃ viduḥ | sarvadevamayo viṣṇurvidhinā pūjayāmi tam || 32 ||
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada in dialogue)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It equates true jñāna with viṣṇu-smaraṇa (constant remembrance of Vishnu) and affirms Vishnu as the all-deity reality (sarvadevamaya), making devotion and worship a direct means toward liberation.
Bhakti is presented as both inner practice (smaraṇa—mindful remembrance) and outer practice (vidhi-pūjā—ritual worship). The verse teaches that devotion is not separate from knowledge; remembrance itself is the essence of knowing.
The phrase vidhinā indicates reliance on ritual injunction and correct procedure—practical dharma expressed through properly performed pūjā (aligned with kalpa-style ritual discipline), alongside inner recollection.
