Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: shanta
The verse elevates compassionate protection (rakṣā) of ill and vulnerable Brahmins as a high dharmic act, promising exalted posthumous reward—residence in Brahmaloka for a yuga—thereby linking seva performed with love to extraordinary punya.
Bhakti is reflected here as premṇā (love) expressed through selfless care; devotion is not only ritual praise but also loving service to those worthy of honor, turning protection of the suffering into an offering rooted in heartfelt compassion.
The verse primarily teaches dharma and social duty rather than a technical Vedanga; practically, it supports smārta-ācāra (ethical conduct) by emphasizing rakṣaṇa (care/protection) and seva as integral to righteous living.
