Narada (teaching in a technical Jyotisha context within the Purana’s instruction)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: none
It frames Jyotiṣa as a disciplined, rule-based Vedāṅga tool—requiring careful measurement (aṁśa, dṛṣṭi) and mindful reference (rekhā)—so that judgments are made with clarity rather than guesswork.
Indirectly: by insisting on accurate assessment and right method, it supports dharmic living and self-knowledge, which the Purāṇa treats as supportive disciplines that can steady one’s mind for Viṣṇu-bhakti and mokṣa-oriented practice.
Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa—reading planetary combinations from the lagna-degree, judging by planetary strength (bala), and computing/recording equal aspects (dṛṣṭi) using a chosen reference line (rekhā).
