Adhyaya 88 — The Manifestation of the Matrikas and the Slaying of Raktabija
sa ca siṃhaḥ mahānādam atīva kṛtavān nṛpa / ghaṇṭāsvanena tannādam ambikā cāpy abṛṃhayat
Courage (lion) and sacred vigilance (bell) work together: righteous power is not merely force but awakened presence that ‘sounds out’ and dispels confusion and fear.
Anucarita within Manvantara: a vivid narrative device where sound-symbols mark the divine’s entrance into decisive action.
The lion’s roar is raw prāṇa-śakti; the bell is discriminative awareness (viveka) that shapes and amplifies it. Together they indicate integrated power—energy guided by consciousness.
