Scriptural ‘origins’ of the Devī are pedagogical descriptions of her manifestations, not a denial of her eternality. This supports a layered reading of Purāṇic myth: literal narrative plus metaphysical doctrine.
Signals Pratisarga in a broad sense (periodic re-manifestation and divine intervention), while also grounding the account in a theological axiom (nityatva of Devī).
‘Jaganmūrti’ implies the cosmos is Devī’s body; thus battles and stories occur within her own manifestation. ‘Many ways’ suggests multiple upāyas (teaching devices) suited to different minds.
