Identity clings to roles and possessions even after loss; wisdom must become assimilated (not merely conceptual) to uproot ‘mine-ness’.
Didactic frame for the Devi Mahatmyam’s metaphysics of delusion; not a direct five-lakṣaṇa unit.
‘Mine-ness’ is a signature of ahaṃkāra under Mahāmāyā. The king’s confession prepares for the doctrine that the Goddess both binds (as delusion) and frees (as wisdom).
