Adhyaya 76 — The Sixth Manvantara: Cakshusha Manu, the Child-Snatcher, and the Problem of Kinship
etat te kathitaṃ ṣaṣṭhaṃ mayā manvantaraṃ dvija / cākṣuṣasya tathā janma caritañ ca mahātmanaḥ
The Purāṇa frames history as cyclical and instructive: each manvantara is a lesson in how dharma is re-established through Manu and his institutions.
Manvantara: explicit closure of a manvantara unit; also supports vaṃśānucarita by summarizing Manu’s life-account.
The formal ‘kathitaṃ’ closure functions like a ritual boundary (saṃdhi), marking a completed cosmic cycle before the next begins.
