Adhyaya 75 — The Fall and Restoration of Revatī Nakṣatra and the Birth of Raivata Manu
इति श्रीमार्कण्डेयपुराणेऽथ तामसमन्वन्तरे चतुःसप्ततितमोऽध्यायः ।
पञ्चसप्ततितमोऽध्यायः—
मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
पञ्चमोऽपि मनुर्ब्रह्मन् रैवतो नाम विश्रुतः ।
तस्योत्पत्तिं विस्तरशः शृणुष्व कथयामि ते ॥
iti śrīmārkaṇḍeyapurāṇe 'tha tāmasa-manvantare catuḥ-saptatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ | pañca-saptatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ— mārkaṇḍeya uvāca | pañcamo 'pi manur brahman raivato nāma viśrutaḥ | tasyotpattiṃ vistaraśaḥ śṛṇuṣva kathayāmi te ||
یوں شری مارکنڈےیہ پران میں تامس منونتر کے تحت چوہترویں باب کا اختتام ہوا۔ اب پچہترویں باب کا آغاز ہوتا ہے۔ مارکنڈےیہ نے کہا— اے برہمن، پانچواں منو ‘رَیوت’ کے نام سے مشہور ہے؛ اس کی پیدائش کی تفصیل سنو، میں تمہیں بتاتا ہوں۔
