labhante nātma-lābhaṃ ca raśmayaś candra-sūryayoḥ | nakṣatrāṇāṃ grahāṇāñ ca meros tatra parā dyutiḥ ||

All secondary lights are relativized before the ‘supreme radiance’ of the cosmic center. As an ethical metaphor: derivative authorities dim before the highest principle (dharma/brahman), encouraging discernment of the ultimate source.
Cosmographic ordering (sarga/pratisarga framework): hierarchical arrangement of cosmic luminaries and the central mountain’s exceptional status.
Meru’s superior radiance can symbolize the inner ‘central light’ of consciousness, before which sensory/mental ‘luminaries’ (changing phenomena) lose dominance.
