sa vai śarīrī prathamaḥ sa vai puruṣa ucyate / ādikartā ca bhūtānāṃ brahmāgre samavartata

The ‘first embodied’ indicates the transition from unmanifest principles to a personal cosmic agent who can initiate further creation. It frames embodiment as an instrument of ordered creativity, not merely bondage.
Sarga: identification of Brahmā/Puruṣa as the first embodied creator belongs to primary creation, preceding genealogies and manvantaras.
Puruṣa as the first embodied can be read as the archetype of ‘I-am’ (ahaṃ) arising to organize experience. Properly understood, this ‘I’ can serve as a vehicle toward the witness, rather than collapsing into mere egoism.
