Adhyaya 34 — Madālāsā’s Instruction on Sadācāra (Householder Conduct, Purity, and Daily Rites)
puṃścalyāḥ kṛtavairasya bālasya patitasya ca |
devālayaṃ caityataruṃ tathaiva ca catuṣpatham ||

Dharma includes situational awareness: avoid needless entanglement with volatile relationships and maintain reverence and restraint in liminal or sacred spaces (temple, sacred tree, crossroads).
Ācāra-dharma instruction; not a pañcalakṣaṇa narrative unit.
Crossroads and shrine-trees are ‘threshold’ zones; the instruction implies guarding one’s conduct at boundaries—social, psychological, and sacred—where distractions and impurities easily arise.
