एवं रक्षा भवेच्छ्राद्धे कृता तातोभयोरपि ।

शावसूतकसंस्पृष्टं दीर्घरोगिभिरेव च ॥

evaṃ rakṣā bhavec chrāddhe kṛtā tātobhayor api / śāva-sūtaka-saṃspṛṣṭaṃ dīrgha-rogibhir eva ca

یوں شرادھ میں کرتَا اور پِتروں—دونوں کے لیے حفاظت (رسمی تحفظ) قائم سمجھی جاتی ہے۔ لیکن شاو اَشَوچ یا سوتک اَشَوچ میں مبتلا افراد اور طویل بیماری سے متاثر لوگوں کے چھوئے ہوئے کھانے اور اعمالِ شرادھ سے پرہیز کرنا چاہیے۔
