Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic order in communal life: even great sages and renunciants observe propriety (yathānyāyam), taking appropriate seats and honoring the norms of respectful assembly. Spiritual aspiration is paired with disciplined conduct.

Vaiśampāyana describes eminent Veda-knowers—ascetics and sages—arriving and seating themselves properly, motivated by a desire to see the Pāṇḍavas again, setting the stage for a renewed encounter or discourse.
