धृतराष्ट्रस्य क्रतु-प्रवर्तनम् तथा पाण्डवानां निमन्त्रण-प्रतिवचनम्

ते वध्यमाना गन्धर्वा: सूतपुत्रेण धीमता
te vadhyamānā gandharvāḥ sūtaputreṇa dhīmatā | āpatad dhi mahāvegaiś citrasenasya sainikaiḥ ||
جب دانا سوت پُتر کرن کے ہاتھوں گندھروؤں پر ضربیں پڑنے لگیں تو چترسین کے نہایت تیز رفتار لشکری دستے پے در پے لپک کر آ پہنچے۔ جتنا اُن پر وار بڑھتا گیا، اتنا ہی وہ سینکڑوں اور ہزاروں کی تعداد میں وہاں جمع ہونے لگے۔
