Educational Q&A

A wise person should not waste energy in purposeless disputes, particularly those encouraged by foolish company; avoiding such quarrels preserves one from harm and builds honorable reputation.

In Udyoga Parva, Vidura offers counsel meant to restrain destructive tendencies and guide conduct; here he urges avoidance of futile conflict as part of prudent, dharmic statecraft and personal ethics.
