Indra and Dharma’s Consolation; Celestial Gaṅgā Purification
rājasūyajitāṁl lokān aśvamedhābhivardhitān | prāpnuhi tvaṁ mahābāho tapasaś ca mahāphalam ||
The verse links ethical causality (karma) with its results: great royal sacrifices and disciplined austerity generate merit that ripens as elevated posthumous realms. It underscores that actions—ritual, duty, and self-restraint—bear corresponding fruits.
In the Svargārohaṇa context, the narrator Vaiśampāyana describes an address to a heroic figure, urging him to attain the heavenly worlds earned through the Rājasūya and enhanced by the Aśvamedha, and to enjoy the reward of his tapas.
