उत्थाय भ्रातरं राजा धर्मराजो धनंजयम् | समाश्लिष्य च सस्नेहं प्रसुरोद महीपति:,भरतश्रेष्ठ! धर्मराज युधिष्छिरने शत्रुसूदन, भाई धनंजयको अपने चरणोंपर गिरकर रोते देख बड़े स्नेहसे उठाकर हृदयसे लगा लिया। फिर वे भूपाल धर्मराज भी फूट-फूटकर रोने लगे
utthāya bhrātaraṃ rājā dharmarājo dhanañjayam | samāśliṣya ca sasnehaṃ prasuroda mahīpatiḥ ||
سنجے نے کہا— دھرم راج بادشاہ یُدھشٹھِر اٹھے، اپنے بھائی دھننجے کو اٹھا کر محبت سے گلے لگایا؛ پھر وہ زمین کے مالک خود بھی پھوٹ پھوٹ کر رو پڑے۔
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights that dharmic leadership includes compassion and emotional honesty. Even in a war-bound setting, Yudhiṣṭhira’s righteousness is expressed through care for his brother—showing that duty (dharma) does not require the suppression of humane feeling.
Sañjaya narrates that Yudhiṣṭhira rises, lifts Arjuna, and embraces him affectionately. Overcome with emotion, the king himself begins to weep, indicating a moment of intense familial concern and sorrow within the unfolding events of the battle.
