Chapter 12: Arjuna’s suppression of the Saṃśaptakas and duel with Aśvatthāmā

समानमृत्यवो राजन् नात्यजन्त परस्परम्
saṃjaya uvāca | samāna-mṛtyavo rājan nātyajanta parasparam | athānye dhanuṣī citre pragṛhya ca mahāśarān | sātyakiṃ chādayantau tau ceratur laghu suṣṭhu ca ||
سنجے نے کہا—اے راجا، وہ سب یکساں طور پر موت کو گلے لگانے کے عزم والے تھے، اس لیے ایک دوسرے کو چھوڑتے نہ تھے۔ پھر دو اور جنگجو، نفیس کمانیں اور بڑے تیر تھام کر، ساتیہ کی کو تیروں سے ڈھانپتے ہوئے، میدانِ کارزار میں نہایت تیزی اور مہارت سے ہر سمت چکر لگانے لگے۔
