च्यवन उवाच सहस्रन॑ नाहमहामि किं वा त्वं मन्‍्यसे नृप । सदृशं दीयतां मूल्यं स्वबुद्ध्या निश्चयं कुरु

Transliteration

Cyavana uvāca: sahasreṇa nāham ahāmi kiṁ vā tvaṁ manyase nṛpa | sadṛśaṁ dīyatāṁ mūlyaṁ svabuddhyā niścayaṁ kuru ||

Translation

چَیون نے کہا—اے نریشور! میں محض ایک ہزار سکّوں میں خریدے جانے کے لائق نہیں۔ کیا تم میری قدر بس اتنی ہی سمجھتے ہو؟ میرے شایانِ شان قیمت دو؛ اور وہ کتنی ہو، اپنی ہی دانائی سے سوچ کر طے کرو۔
