एवं द्वैपायनो जज्ञे सत्यवत्यां पराशरात् | न्यस्तो द्वीपे स यद् बालस्तस्माद् द्वैपायन: स्मृत:
evaṃ dvaipāyano jajñe satyavatyāṃ parāśarāt | nyasto dvīpe sa yad bālas tasmād dvaipāyanaḥ smṛtaḥ |
یوں مہارشی پراشر سے ستیوتی کے بطن سے دوَیپاین (ویاس) کی پیدائش ہوئی۔ اور چونکہ بچپن ہی میں انہیں ایک جزیرے پر چھوڑ دیا گیا تھا، اس لیے وہ ‘دوَیپاین’ کے نام سے یاد کیے گئے۔
