Adhyāya 125: Raṅga-pradarśana — Arjuna’s Entry and Astric Demonstration (रङ्गप्रदर्शनम्)
tato mādrī samāliḍhya rājānaṃ gatacetasaṃ | mumoca duḥkhajaṃ śabdaṃ punaḥ punar atīva hi ||
The verse highlights the inevitability of death and the ethical weight of human bonds: even amid royal narratives, dharma is felt through compassion, loyalty, and the truthful expression of grief rather than through power or status.
Mādrī embraces the king who has become unconscious/lifeless and repeatedly cries out in intense sorrow, expressing lamentation over his condition.
