Balarāma Slays the Ape Dvivida
Dvivida-vadha
śrī-rājovāca bhuyo ’haṁ śrotum icchāmi rāmasyādbhuta-karmaṇaḥ anantasyāprameyasya yad anyat kṛtavān prabhuḥ
This verse shows the devotee’s eagerness to hear repeatedly about the Lord—because the Lord is ananta (unlimited), His glories and deeds are inexhaustible and ever-fresh.
In the narrative, Parīkṣit is listening to Śukadeva Gosvāmī and, captivated by Balarāma’s extraordinary acts, he requests further descriptions of the Lord’s additional pastimes.
Cultivate regular śravaṇam—daily listening/reading of Bhagavatam or Hari-kathā—nourishing devotion by repeatedly hearing about the Lord’s limitless qualities and deeds.
