FAQs

It specifies the ritual media for purification/abhisheka: plain water, pañcakaṣāya (a fivefold decoction), sarvauṣadhi-infused water, scented water, and water stored in fully filled kumbhas for sprinkling or bathing rites.

It integrates practical ritual procedure with quasi-Ayurvedic concepts (herbal infusions like sarvauṣadhi-jala and decoctions like kaṣāya), showing how the text compiles liturgical technique alongside medicinal and material details.

Using herb-infused and fragrant waters in snana/abhisheka is presented as a means of enhanced śauca (purity), supporting sanctification of the worshipper and the rite, and thereby increasing the merit (puṇya) and efficacy of the worship.
