FAQs

It prescribes ritual standards (pramāṇa) for garlands/rosaries used in worship—specifying the length of a vanamālā and giving a rule for the japa-mālā either by kalpa (rite-specific prescription) or by a fixed measurement (twice sixteen aṅgulas).

Beyond theology, it records practical liturgical details—counts (1008) and linear measures (aṅgula)—showing the text’s coverage of applied ritual technology alongside broader Purāṇic subjects.

Following correct ritual form (kalpa and pramāṇa) is treated as supporting purity, concentration in japa, and the proper offering of honor to the deity—thereby enhancing the merit (puṇya) of worship.
