Varaha Purana 62.5 — Adhyaya 62, Shloka 5

Instruction on the ‘Health Vow’ and the Rite of Solar Worship

FAQs

It reflects a common Purāṇic genre of phalaśruti (statements of outcomes) attached to regulated ritual practice, linking social goods (health, wealth, grain) with posthumous aspirations in the broader Sanskrit textual tradition.

No explicit geographic location is named in this verse; it focuses on a temporal vow (a full year) and its described results rather than a specific sacred site.

The verse promotes disciplined observance (vidhinā) and sustained practice over time, framing ethical-religious conduct as orderly, intentional worship associated with well-being and an auspicious posthumous destination.
