शृण्वन्त्या मे महज्जातं चित्ते कौतूहलं परम् ॥ गायमानस्य किं पुण्यं वाद्यमानस्य किं फलम्।

śṛṇvantyā me mahaj jātaṃ citte kautūhalaṃ param || gāyamānasya kiṃ puṇyaṃ vādyamānasya kiṃ phalam

Habang nakikinig ako, isang dakila at pinakamataas na pananabik ang sumibol sa aking isipan: anong kabutihang-loob (puṇya) ang sa umaawit, at anong bunga ang sa tumutugtog ng mga instrumento?
