Hymn to Varāha and Pṛthivī’s Inquiry

Prelude to the Sanatkumāra Dialogue

यस्मिन्काले क्षितिः पूर्वकल्पे वाराह मूर्तिना ॥ उद्धृता च यया भक्त्या पप्रच्छ परमेश्वरम् ॥

yasmin kāle kṣitiḥ pūrva-kalpe vārāha-mūrtinā || uddhṛtā ca yayā bhaktyā papraccha parameśvaram ||

Noong panahong iyon, sa isang naunang kalpa, nang ang Daigdig ay itinaas sa anyong Varāha—sa gayong debosyon din, siya’y nagtanong sa Kataas-taasang Panginoon.
