ततस्तस्मिंस्तदा राज्ञो महत्कदनमाबभौ । ततो हेतुप्रहेत्रीभ्यां श्रुत्वा जामातरं रणे ॥ ११.८७ ॥

tatastasmiṁstadā rājño mahat-kadanam ābabhau | tato hetuprahetrībhyāṁ śrutvā jāmātaraṁ raṇe || 11.87 ||

Pagkaraan, sa sandaling iyon, sumiklab doon ang isang malaking pagpatay para sa hari. Pagdaka, nang marinig niya mula sa mga nag-udyok at nagsagawa ang tungkol sa manugang sa labanan, (siya’y tumugon nang nararapat).
