Skanda Purana — Prabhasa Khanda, Shloka 2

यदा दुःखमनुप्राप्ता दुर्गा दुःखविनाशिनी । सूर्यमाराधयामास तदा दुःखविनुत्तये

yadā duḥkhamanuprāptā durgā duḥkhavināśinī | sūryamārādhayāmāsa tadā duḥkhavinuttaye

Nang siya’y dumanas ng dalamhati, si Durgā—ang pumupuksa sa pagdurusa—ay sumamba sa Araw (Sūrya) upang maalis ang pagdurusang iyon.
