Skanda (addressing Devī; deduced from “deveśi” and chapter flow)
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī (addressed as ‘Deveśi’)
Scene: A pilgrim at Prabhāsa stands calm and unangered amid a crowd, offering water with a serene gaze that sees all beings as himself; the kṣetra’s sanctity is shown as a luminous aura rather than mere landscape.
The highest pilgrimage is ethical: angerlessness, truthfulness, steadfast vows, and empathy toward all beings are what perfect tīrtha-merit.
The instruction is embedded in Prabhāsakṣetra Māhātmya, ultimately pointing the pilgrim toward Prabhāsa and Someśvara’s grace.
A dharmic prescription: cultivate akrodha, satya-śīla, firm vows, and ātmopama compassion as part of tīrtha practice.
