ईश्वर उवाच । ततो गच्छेन्महादेवि यत्र जांबवती नदी । पुरा जांबवतीनाम विष्णोर्या महिषीप्रिया । अपृच्छदर्जुनं साध्वी वद वार्तां कुरू द्वह
īśvara uvāca | tato gacchenmahādevi yatra jāṃbavatī nadī | purā jāṃbavatīnāma viṣṇoryā mahiṣīpriyā | apṛcchadarjunaṃ sādhvī vada vārtāṃ kurū dvaha
Wika ni Īśvara: “Pagkaraan nito, O Mahādevī, marapat na magtungo sa pook na dinadaluyan ng ilog na Jāmbavatī. Noong unang panahon, ang banal at malinis na si Jāmbavatī—minamahal na reyna ni Viṣṇu—ay nagtanong kay Arjuna: ‘Isalaysay mo ang balita; magsalita ka ng totoo, huwag magkubli.’”
