भरतोनाम राजाऽभूदाग्नीध्रः प्रथितः क्षितौ । यस्येदं भारतं वर्षं नाम्ना लोकेषु गीयते
bharatonāma rājā'bhūdāgnīdhraḥ prathitaḥ kṣitau | yasyedaṃ bhārataṃ varṣaṃ nāmnā lokeṣu gīyate
May isang haring nagngangalang Bharata, mula sa angkan ni Āgnīdhra, na bantog sa ibabaw ng lupa. Dahil sa kanya, ang lupaing ito’y inaawit sa mga daigdig bilang “Bhārata-varṣa”.
