मृकंडोपि सुतं ज्ञात्वा ततः क्षीणायुषं नृप । पंचवार्षिकमप्यार्त्तश्चकारोपनयान्वितम्

mṛkaṃḍopi sutaṃ jñātvā tataḥ kṣīṇāyuṣaṃ nṛpa | paṃcavārṣikamapyārttaścakāropanayānvitam

O hari, si Mṛkaṇḍa man ay gayundin: nang malaman niyang maikli ang buhay ng kanyang anak noon, buong pag-aalala niyang isinagawa ang upanayana, kahit limang taong gulang pa lamang ang bata.
