यौवनं गत्वरं ज्ञात्वा जरां दृष्ट्वाश्रितां श्रुतिम् । चिन्तामवाप महती शिवशर्मा द्विजोत्तमः
yauvanaṃ gatvaraṃ jñātvā jarāṃ dṛṣṭvāśritāṃ śrutim | cintāmavāpa mahatī śivaśarmā dvijottamaḥ
Nang malaman niyang panandalian ang kabataan, at makita ang katandaan na dumarating ayon sa itinuturo ng śruti, ang dakilang dvija na si Śivaśarmā ay napasok sa malalim na pagninilay at pangamba.
