Tirtha: Tīrtha (general) within Kāśī framework
Type: ghat
Scene: A pilgrim at a ghat performs śrāddha with simple offerings—oil-cake and jaggery—placing piṇḍas on leaves; the rite is simplified, without elaborate invitation gestures, emphasizing quiet focus.
At tīrthas, sincerity outweighs luxury—ancestral rites remain valid even with simple offerings, as approved by sages.
The instruction is embedded in Kāśīkhaṇḍa, applying to the tīrtha-context of Kāśī and its pilgrimage śrāddha customs.
Perform śrāddha at the tīrtha using simple items like piṇyāka and guḍa, and do it without arghya and āvāhana.
