Giri/Śaila (mountain personified, addressing the sage)
Tirtha: Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Listener: Śaunaka and other ṛṣis (traditional frame)
Scene: The bowed mountain offers a hymn-like confession: the dust of the sage’s feet and the radiance of his body instantly remove inner grime and darkness; the sage sits luminous and calm.
Contact with saintly beings—symbolized by the dust of their feet—purifies inner impurity and dispels ignorance.
Within Kāśīkhaṇḍa, the sanctity of Kāśī is reinforced through the theme of instant purification by holy association.
No formal rite; the teaching centers on darśana/saṅga (holy contact) as a purifier.
