Skanda Purana — Avanti Khanda, Shloka 2

तत्रैव पिण्डदानेन पितॄणामनृणो भवेत् । तेन पुण्येन पूतात्मा लभेद्गाणेश्वरीं गतिम्

tatraiva piṇḍadānena pitṝṇāmanṛṇo bhavet | tena puṇyena pūtātmā labhedgāṇeśvarīṃ gatim

Doon din, sa pag-aalay ng piṇḍa, ang tao’y nagiging walang pagkakautang sa mga ninuno. Sa bisa ng gayong kabutihan, nalilinis ang loob at nakakamit ang banal na landas na tinatawag na ‘Gāṇeśvarī’ na kalagayan.
