Sūta Gosvāmin
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: liberating
It teaches that spiritual certainty arises through the guru’s grace gained by sincere devotion, and that such knowledge makes human life truly fruitful—aligned with Shaiva Siddhanta where grace (anugraha) is essential for liberation.
In the Shiva Purana, right understanding of Shiva-tattva and proper worship (including Linga-upasana) is transmitted through the guru-parampara; devotion to the guru becomes the doorway to correct Saguna Shiva worship and the realization it leads toward.
Practice guru-bhakti through listening (śravaṇa) to the Purana, reverent recitation, and daily remembrance of Shiva with mantra-japa (such as the Panchakshara) under guidance—treating the guru’s instruction as the core discipline.
